This year, we are joining tens of thousands of Canadians to participate in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in REGINA and SASKATOON and you are invited to join! .

The Run for the Cure is Canada’s largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, education and health promotion initiatives. This year’s event is on Sunday, October 6th.  

We are proud to be a team for this year’s event to support one another in our fundraising efforts. Please help us by joining our team or donating today!

In conjunction with the SIAST Dental Hygiene Student Presentation, SDHA members are welcomed to attend The SDHA Jurisprudence and Continuing Competency Program presentation.

It has been developed to provide information, instruction and to prepare members/potential members to provide safe and competent dental hygiene care in accordance with the legislation, policies and procedures specific to Saskatchewan as set out in the: The Dental Disciplines Act; The Saskatchewan Dental Hygienists’ Association Administrative Bylaws, Part I; The Saskatchewan Dental Hygienists’ Association Regulatory Bylaws, Part II; and The Continuing Competency (CC) Program Guidelines.

We can accommodate a maximum of 25 SDHA members, and registrations will be based on a first-come, first served basis.  If you would like to attend, please email ( or call 306-931-7342.  Once registration is confirmed, payment can be mailed to the SDHA office or done by credit card. April Announcements

The SDHA AGM and Professional Development Day is coming up soon on May 4th, 2013.  It is being held at the Willows, in Saskatoon and will include not only the SDHA AGM, but also presentations by SHIRP (Saskatchewan Health Information Resource Partnership), The SK Privacy Commissioner and Mariana Leon, discussing Trends and Treatment: Esthetics as a Gateway to Oral Health. We hope to see a great turnout like we do each year so get your registration forms in early!  I would also like to encourage you to submit a Nominations Form and get involved on the SDHA Council. The deadline for Nominations Forms is April 23, 2013.  If you are interested but have questions, please contact the SDHA office.  We would be happy to talk to you.


The SDHA Website now has the capability to produce current CC Transcripts.  Please login to the members section of the SDHA website to view yours.  If there are any discrepancies, please contact the SDHA office immediately. It is important that you check your transcript right away because with the new 120 day rule, any requests for continuing competency credits must be received within 120 days of the activity.


Please note that CC Credit Request Forms for any continuing competency activities completed before January 1, 2013 are due by April 30th.
